Our Journey
Founded in July 2021 by Mike McEwan, Sefam Medical UK began with a mission to bring advanced, patient-first sleep medicine solutions to the UK.
From launching the S.Box in late 2021 to the introduction of Néa in 2024 — the UK’s first foam-free CPAP — we continue to push boundaries in safety, comfort, and innovation.
Now celebrating over 40 years of global Sefam excellence, our team works closely with NHS Sleep Medicine Services, offering connected care through our S.Box and Néa platforms, along with the full suite of Sefam software and apps.
Meet the Team
Mike McEwan
Managing Director
Mike founded Sefam Medical UK in 2021, bringing nearly 20 years of leadership in sleep apnoea and respiratory care from roles at ResMed UK and Europe. He leads the UK rollout of Sefam’s innovative S.Box and Néa devices, alongside the Sunrise diagnostic tool. Mike works closely with NHS sleep services to deliver connected, patient-first care.
Kuldip Madar
Associate Director of Sales
Kuldip is a Biomedical Engineer with a strong commercial background in medical electronics and health tech. He’s held senior leadership roles at B Braun and Stryker, where he drove major growth in sales and service. At Sefam, Kuldip brings his expertise to introduce AI-driven sleep diagnostics and next-generation CPAP solutions across the UK.
Tony Allen
Senior Account Manager
With a clinical background as an Operating Department Practitioner, Tony has over 25 years of commercial experience in medical sales and leadership. His career spans NHS and private sector roles, including Director-level positions at Medtronic and Salter Labs. Tony now supports sleep therapy clients across the UK with both clinical insight and commercial know-how.
Dr Phyllis Murphie
Clinical Affairs and Business Development Manager
Phyllis is a Registered Nurse and researcher with a Ph.D. in Telemedicine and Sleep Medicine. She has decades of NHS experience as a Respiratory Nurse Consultant and previously led integrated care services in Scotland. A passionate advocate for service improvement, she joined Sefam UK full-time in 2023 after working with the team in a consultancy capacity since 2020.
Liam Ions
Operations Manager
Liam oversees finance, logistics, and operational performance at Sefam UK. With a background in accounting and business operations, he ensures smooth day-to-day running of the business—from managing budgets to improving workflows. He plays a key role in delivering efficient and responsive service to customers and partners alike.
Chloë Duggan-Jones
Admin
Chloe keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes at Sefam Medical UK. She supports Mike and the rest of the team with admin, event setup, and making sure everyone’s got what they need to get things done. Whether it's organising meetings, sorting last-minute tasks, or keeping things on schedule, Chloe's the one making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Callum Gilkes
Warehouse Manager - UK
Callum leads the warehousing and logistics operations at Sefam Medical UK. His experience in inventory management and supply chain coordination ensures timely and accurate delivery of our products. He’s committed to maintaining high standards and supporting the team’s wider goals through streamlined distribution.
Nathan Lane
Associate Account Manager
Nathan supports sales and account management in the North of England. With a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, he brings strong analytical skills and a passion for patient outcomes. Known for his collaborative mindset and enthusiasm, Nathan plays a key role in helping clinicians adopt Sefam’s solutions.
